Update 27.3.20 – Zoom Workouts, Outdoor Bootcamps with Josh and Evaluating Some Apps to Keep You Training

I hope you’re going well and settling into a new kind of normal

Here’s an update on the current state of play with Adapt and what we’re trying to do to keep you fit over these trying times

Virtual Training Sessions w/ Zoom

Our 5:30pm virtual class seems to be working although each session seems to have a different link so making sure everyone’s got access to each session has been the only real issue

Last night we ran a workout with better audio than our previous attempt – It looks like the best setup for Zoom is to have a bluetooth headset or some bluetooth earbuds to take instruction when you’re not close to your phone/laptop

If you need tunes, the best bet is to is to set that up separately but we’re finding it’s still possible to train without tunes 😉

Starting next Monday (30.3.20) you’ll have access to 3 streams/options of programming on SugarWOD:

  1. Un-Loaded -> pure bodyweight workouts that you can do at home with no equipment
  2. Half-Loaded -> for people that have a little bit of gear; and
  3. Fully-Loaded -> for peeps with full garage gym set-ups at home

If you’re keen to get involved with our Zoom sessions, each day we’ll be utilising the Un-Loaded Option – that way, everyone can workout together (because you don’t need any gear)

Also, starting next Monday we’ll be running another zoom workout for our morning crew @ 6am – Stay tuned for links on Facebook and Tribe

If you haven’t downloaded Zoom yet, please head over to your respective App Store and install it on your smartphone – after you’ve set it up make sure you add [email protected] as a contact (in Zoom) – it just makes it easier to connect when we run a session

Bootcamps with Josh

Yesterday Josh kicked off some outdoor bootcamp sessions at Melba Oval and if you’re looking to socialise (while practising Social Distancing) then you really need to get down to them
Weather permitting, these sessions will run each weekday at 4pm and 4:30pm until we’re no longer allowed due to government restrictions

  • What: 30 min Bootcamp Session w/ Josh
  • Where: Melba Oval (Google Melba Tennis Courts) -> use that carpark
  • When: Weekdays at 4pm and 4:30pm

Evaluating Online PT Apps -> Trainerize & TrueCoach

Over the coming days and weeks we’ll be evaluating Trainerize & TrueCoach Apps to deliver online workouts – Specifically, we’ll be looking at program delivery, accountability and habit tracking

If you get an invite to Trainerize or TrueCoach, please don’t freak out just respond and sign up for an account – It won’t cost you anything but it may just be a better way to keep to training over this crazy time 😉

Today’s Workout – 27.3.20

3-6-9-12-15 etc… * jumping air squats * clapping push-ups / push-ups * sit-ups
as far as possible to 15 minutes *increase each round by 3 reps each time
