3 Reasons You Need To ROMWOD
So for the past two months I’ve been doing a yoga program for Crossfit enthusiasts called ROMWOD (Range Of Motion Workout Of the Day).
When I first started doing ROWOD I wasn’t exactly keen on the idea of extra stretching outside of class time (because really who needs to stretch???), but in the end I decided it was probably for the best.
And now two months later my flexibility has increased (I can now, squat a LOT lower than I used to, and another added benefit my lower back is no longer stiff and sore after a heavy deadlift day) and with all my extra stretchiness, my recovery time has decreased because I’m stretching for at least 20 minutes after each of my training sessions.
ROMWOD (I feel) is a very useful tool for the aspiring athlete. I feel stronger and more flexible after each session and it gives me some time to get out of my own head and focus on something else for a while.
So guys if you can take anything from this little post, it’s these three things:
- ROMWOD will INCREASE you range of motion.
- ROMWOD will help to DECREASE your RECOVERY TIME (which means more time doing things you want, instead of suffering from DOMS).
- ROMWOD provides a guided stretching program and if you relax enough, a place in your day for meditation.
