A: HSPU Technique

B1: 3x ME kipping HSPU
B2: 3x ME ring dips (DT style -> push & push)

C: 8 min AMRAP:

  • 8 front rack lunges @ 50/35kg
  • 8 lateral bar burpees
  • 8 HSPU – work technique reps that you used earlier

    I enjoyed this morning. I think I’ve got my HSPU technique mostly sorted, but still helpful to work on the basics. And after a break it was good just to get those muscle groups moving again without too much stress. Also fun to see a few people make real progress with HSPU.
    A. Pretty much just did as I was told.
    B. 12/11, 9/9, 8/8. Very smoked triceps by the end of it.
    C. The remnants of the cold/virus came back to bite me about halfway through so I spent quite a bit of time just sitting and trying to get my energy back. 2 rounds + burpees. Oh, and 40kg for the lunges.

    Good to be back after a break for illness. Although I would have liked to have been there for the body weight stuff last week. Don’t mind the odd burpee…
    A: Did 2 things differently with these – head flat on the floor and frog kick. Helped enormously, felt like I was pushing no weight at all.
    B: 11/10, x/y, a/b. Can’t remember rounds 2 and 3, but no matter.
    C: 50kg lunges and got out 3 rounds. First 2 rounds, the HSPUs were unbroken.

    A. Managed to bust out my first ever HSPUs. Most with a bumper under the ab mat, but also a few with just the ab mat. Tricky little things to get right (must get back onto wall instead of butt) but super fun.
    B. WOD-brain came back and I forgot everything I learned 10 minutes ago. But got through one round. Hazaa.
    Favourite parts – Sarah’s awesome reaction after nailing her HSPUs and Pete the newbie being amazing.

    A: This was really good to practice. I am glad the frog kick is now popular as I have been doing this all along and have felt a little scrappy previously…
    B: Kept working on HSPU and did a few ring dips – tried to kip them, but that didn’t work!
    C: Had 4 more HSPU in round 3. was smoked by first round of HSPU after all the work before hand… but this was great fun!
