What’s happening in January 2015?

30 Day Paleo Challenge

We thought it’s be a good idea to kick off the new year with a paleo challenge. Normally we’d be pitching something like the Whole30 but dialling it back to a ‘Paleo Challenge’ makes things a little more doable – You get involved you’ll need to head over to the App store/Google Play and download the [Paleo Challenge] app -> Join a challenge (search for Adapt – you’ll see us there and join up) – find out more and put your name down here…

Area 61 (Batemans Bay) hang out

We’ve managed to lock in a date with the crew from Area 61, Batemans Bay -> Saturday 24th Jan. Plan is to head down for a 9am WOD (I’m heading down earlier to hit the Maulbrooks MTB tracks beforehand) hit some lifts, do a WOD and then head down to a beach, have a BBQ and go for a swim. If you’re keen, let me know so I can finalise numbers…

Merry Christmas!

If you’re heading away for Christmas, stay safe and have fun. I hope you have a most excellent Xmas/NYs break and I look forward to seeing you all back in the box in 2015!

So, with the re-release of the “new’ Band-Aid song, I can’t help but reflect here on the opening line:
“It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid”
Apparently they haven’t heard of Zeus. Do these rockstars even lift?!

Anyway, what a bloody slog that was. This is one workout that I really am proud just to be able to say I’ve finished. 46:39 RX. I am still not recovered. And I need my strength to face that last round of Christmas shopping.
Very much looking forward to the Christmas break. We’ll be staying local and enjoying our new deck (and/or landscaping around the damned thing).
And a big thank you to all involved in the running of the fine institution that is Adapt Crossfit. It really has been a haven for me and mine when things in the outside world have been pretty tumultuous at times. I have come in here feeling pretty bloody awful at times, but never had a time when I didn’t leave feeling a whole lot better. I don’t know what the magic formula is, but it sure feels that that balance of personalities and approaches, both in coaches and punters, works. Merry Christmas everyone.

I’m almost sorry I missed that one.

    Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone.

I’ve just now (at 11:15am) recovered enough to make myself a coffee. That was a hard slog indeed! Plus there was no FF (or “Thor” option) this morning so it was all out or nothing.
Got 21 wall balls into the 3rd round in 40 the 40 minute time cap (was in the second wave). Almost wasn’t going to do this one as I had Craig go to town on my traps yesterday. I’m glad I did – I think the extra movement there really helped me keep moving smoothly and quickly. Thanks Craig!
Merry Christmas to everyone and I’ll catch you all on the other side!

Got up today at went to the 5:30am my first one since starting. I don’t know how you guys do it just crazy!

Went in the second wave and finished in 33:57. Found this so much easier than fight gone bad although it does take it out of you, hope everyone was a wonderful Christmas and happy new year.

  • 44:50. Happy never to do that again. Have a good Chrissy y’all!!

  • TarrynC says:

This was way more mental than physical for me….like Ben M I found it easier than Fight Gone Bad….

pretty sure my finish time was 61:16…I started in the 3rd wave so total time is 53:16. I was through 15 wall balls on the 40 minutes and actually mentally bailed….stopped for about 3 minutes…then decided to finish it. Which means rounds 1 and 2 tool about 20 minutes each but round 3 took about 10-15…..interesting what a light at the end of the tunnel can do for you.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
