The Chief

Max rounds in 3 minutes of:

  • 3 Power cleans 60/40
  • 6 Push-ups
  • 9 Squats

Rest 1 minute. Repeat for a total of 5 cycles.

    Initially I was disappointed with my score, but now that I’ve stopped acting like a dickhead (sorry) I’m so proud of my efforts. Hadn’t done push-ups for 5 weeks and only just started back with cleans. So to Rx the WOD is awesome – all strict push-ups – all 79 of them!

      Oh thanks Penny – last time I did this WOD I got 14 rounds, but only @30kgs and probs PUs on knees! Which was a new 1rm weight for me… It’s now 57kgs… Wow!

    Woohoo! My first ever rx workout! So happy with that!

    Finished 12 rounds plus 3 pc. Some of my cleans were pretty messy and landed a bit too high up on my throat. Got some nice scrapes now!

    17 rounds and 6 push-ups, with 80kg deadlifts instead of power cleans. Actually found this kind of enjoyable…! Push-ups the limiter.

    First time doing the chief, went Rx and got 12 Rnds + 1 PC into 13th round. This was a great session hard but good! My fitness is the biggest limiter but its def getting better! Love Saturday sessions!!

    11 rounds plus 2 push ups Rx

    This was my first time meeting the Chief and first Saturday WOD 100% Rx. Don’t feel like I am going to have any bruises from the cleans so I must have been doing them ok, the squats were ok too. Push ups were hard, was really focusing on keeping everything tight, chest to floor and making my last push up the same as my first – slow going but am happy with my tech.

    First Rx WOD, 40kg power cleans were my 1RM on Tuesday night so I’m really stoked with this.

    Only managed to lift 40kg exactly a week ago πŸ™‚ and now here I am doing The Chief Rx…!!

    5 rounds plus 2 PC… obviously PC were the limiter on this one, push ups getting tighter and squats were a piece of delicious cake!!

    19 rounds flat at Rx weight. I thought Lovan gave me a couple of extra “gift” rounds in the count, but on count-back, everything was legit. Yeah!

    Getting through the last round of squats, I was trying to go so fast that I was getting air time. Does that count as Rx+?

    Push ups were slow, really trying to get chest to deck every time, I’ve got long arms and no “cushions” so it seems such a long way down! Haha
    On the first round I had 6PU done & Coach Becca pointed out I need to go the whole way down so I called myself on all of them and no repped myself, I repeated all 6 again – I made sure i was legit in the rounds after that lol

    17 rounds and 1 PC. This was almost a full round more than when we I did this workout last time so I am really happy with the result.

    Bron finished with 15 rounds and 2 PC at 35kgs. First time attempting the chief.

    16 rounds plus 6 push ups

    Power cleans slowed me down, push ups mostly 3,2,1. Managed to finish most rounds after the power cleans. ‘The Chief’ was a good format for pushing you at the end of every 3rd minute.

    FINALLY GOT MY FIRST REAL PUSH UP!! was so shocked when i got it!
    super happy with this, these were very slow though.

    got 6 rounds 3 push ups.
