Beginner classes: CF Fundamentals

CF Fundamentals: Beginner classes or 1:1 PT

In each session you’ll learn the keys to CrossFit’s nine fundamental movements as well as find out about our nutritional practices & recommendations.  Spots are strictly limited to 6/class. The sessions are as follows:

  • Session 1: The squats (body weight squat, front squat, back squat and over head (OH) squat)
  • Session 2: The presses (strict press, push-press and push-jerk)
  • Session 3: The Lifts (deadlift, power clean and power snatch)
  • Session 4: Nutrition (explaining the Paleo and Zone diets, understanding the insulin effect & cortisol)
Classes are $20 each (so no, you can’t use your ‘free pass’ on these…)

If you are unable to make it to the allocated times then a separate 1:1 session will have to be arranged @ $50/session with one of our coaches.

NOTE: There’s a lot of people out there (yes you) that thought you couldn’t start CrossFit until you had completed our 4 Fundamentals sessions / beginner classes. That was my fault (I don’t think I explained it properly?!) but it works like this:

  1. Come and in and try a session for free to actually see if you like what we do…
  2. Yes, you will have to book in for this -> so Book in right now
    – If you’re new to Adapt make sure you book into a 6pm class (where there are multiple coaches available…)
  3. After your free session it’s time to book in for your Fundamentals. You’ll be able to start training (6pm sessions only) but once you have completed the first 3 sessions (the squats, the presses; and the lifts) you can attend any of our regular group sessions.

Our Nutrition session: Explaining the Paleo and Zone diets, understanding the insulin effect & cortisol

If you’re after results and most people are, then you’ll need to understand that just showing up and training a couple of times a week alone is not enough. We know through both personal experience and client observation, that consistent training coupled with smart nutrition and lifestyle choices leads to results. Real results. So we spend time with you finding out what you eat, how you sleep, and get some info on your stress levels. We’ll  let you know what has worked for us personally and enabled so many of our clients to achieve incredible results. We generally advertise well in advance when we run these sessions.

NOTE: If you’re new to Adapt then these sessions are mandatory. Even if you’ve trained at another CrossFit Box before. Beyond helping you to NOT look like a total Gumby, it’s all about moving safely and efficiently. You need to know our basic movements and you need to know them well enough to make sure you don’t get injured. Nuff said.
