Pru: successful clean at the weekend’s impromptu weightlifting Comp (thanks Dom for the pics)…
10 minutes to establish a 1rm Shoulder Press.
-then-
8 minute AMRAP of:
- 6 HSPU
- 12 OH Walking Lunges 20/10kg (1L+1R=1)
Post loads, rounds and training notes to comments.

That jerk was so close!! Oh well next time
1RM shoulder press – 30kg woo hoo!! Last time was barely 25kg!
AMRAP: 3 rounds plus 6 (1L+1R) walking lunges. It’s odd but I really like this one! Still not at full knees of the ground push ups yet but getting there
^^lookin good “p-dizzle”^^
Don’t call me that!
1RM – 28kgs – PB by 1kg but felt like I should have been able to do more and was really disappointed…
AMRAP: 3 full rounds. First two were with full push ups, last round push ups on knees. I have to stop letting myself scale back mid-workout. It is such a cop-out and I feel like a wuss when I do it but I still do it anyway!!!
Don’t worry hun you’ll get there, you just have to take a deep breath, take a bit longer to do the full reps and you will get there!! xoxo
A: 90kg = PB – failed @ 92.5kg
B: 2 rounds plus 4 HSPU’s – first round = good, 2nd round = not so good, 3rd round = a big fat mess
A: 25kgs! I almost had 25.5.
B: 2 rounds, doing girly push-ups, plus 6 push-ups and 14 (or 7) walking lunges. My arms were hurting so much, but I’m happy I kept to 10kgs for the lunges. Getting a real push-up is my goal for the next few weeks!
A: 80kg – haven’t done much OH work lately so cant be disappointed.
B: 3 rounds + 6 HSPUs – fun to finally train w/ the crew again. Just trying to keep up w/ the Lawler fam
A: 30kg, new PB – stoked, failed at 32kg
B: I can’t remember if I did 3 full rounds or 4 either way, what a work out. I did full push ups, but they weren’t always as strong as they should have been.
Did the first 5pm session, it was great. 5pm is the new black – FACT!
A: 75kg – and struggled every step of the way past my eyebrows. I’ll take it as a PB.
B: 2 rounds and 2 HSPU….. very, very ugly HSPU.
Not even going to mention the stroll around the block…
A. 60kg – not happy
B. into my third round, scaled everything.
A) 45kg – Failed twice at 50 – Could feel myself trying to push press and then over-thought it too much.
B) 2 Rounds + 3 HSPUs (onto 2 x 15kg plates – First attempt not doing pike & stoked!)
Then the block walk with 16kg… Only put them down twice
A: 30kg (3.5kg under my good day PB, that felt *far* away tonight)
B: 5 rounds + 6 pike push-ups from box (10kg plate for lunges)
+ C: farmers walk (slow jog to get it over with quicker!) with 2 x 12kg kettlebells
A32.5,
B. normal Pushups, 3 rounds
C started farmers wirh24kg which was ok but swapped with bens 20 kgs dumbbell thinking it would be easier… So not! Ben wouldn’t swap back:/
A: failed an equal-PB 60kg (spent what seemed like ten seconds looking at the bar 5cm from my eyes, unsuccessfully willing it to go up). Lifted 55kg OK.
B: 4 rounds + 6 HSPU. HSPUs were scaled with a 20kg plate, a bit too fat I think as I banged out the first 4 sets six in a row – but hit a wall in the fifth set and did it 3-1-1-1. Lunges were fine but leg-jellifying. Thanks to DJ.
C: blew out on the farmers walk, 2 x 16kg and I had to put them down several times
A)75Kg . pb
B) got three full hspu in a row , so pb for that too , then singles . After that scaled the next two rounds with essentrics and 10.5 lunges on the third
farmers walk 2 by 24 kg , had to drop them two times .
A: 65kg – PB
B: 4 Rounds, 6 HSPU
Farmers walk with 2 x 20kg dumbbells.
A: 60kg. new PB, ran out of time to go for another.
B: 3 rounds 5 hspu. RXed
and 2 24kg kettle bells for the farmers walk
Yay didnt have to change much for my wrist it is starting to feel better
A. 35kg SP fail at 37kg
B. 3 rounds did pike push up things on dumbbells
C. FW started with 16kg both sides but had to leave one with Ben half way because my wrist started to play up. Nice to do the 5pm session
Got 35kg (PB) on the shoulder press – wanted to go higher – but unfortunately my core was holding me back.
Did normal strict push ups and 10kg plate….. hard work – but good!
A: 27kg
B: 2 rounds + 6 push ups + 15 lunges. 10kg plate, and pike push ups.
C: Farmers walk – 12kg
Then drove for 5 hours to Singleton and did ‘Holleyman’ at Pat’s gym (which is 30 rounds for time of 5 wall balls, 3 handstand push ups, 1 power clean) – had a 30 min cap, managed 21 rounds + 5 wall balls. Did 6kg wall ball for the first time, I normally only ever do our 8lb orange ball at Adapt for some reason?! Got a new pb for my cleans 35kg, and used this weight in the WOD, just did push ups from toes for the push up part, shoulders were spanked from the mornings pike push ups, these were still really challenging and what took up most of my time.
See you guys in 2 weeks!
A: 67kg (PB) and attempted 70kg but failed.
B: 4 rounds + 5 HSPU.
HSPU was scaled to 20kg plate and a little towel. First 2 sets of HSPU were straight 6. I struggled on the last 2 sets breaking them down to 1 at a time. Thanks for the push Mike.
C: Farmers walk – 2 x 16kg kettles.
A: 30kg
B: 3 rounds plus 6 scaled HSPU
C: Farmers walk with 20 kg seal, a bit light and didnt struggle as much as everyone else seemed to, but maybe Im strong, who knows
thanks Ben
A: 30kg. Have been at this weight for like 4 months now. Although I haven’t don’t strict press in ages so at least the weight didnt go down.
B: 3 rounds + 6 HSPU (scaled to pike push ups from box)
