A: Snatch VOL – EMOTM for 10 mins: 1 rep @ 80% 1RM

B: Clean and Jerk Max (12 mins)

C: 3 rounds for time (12 min cap):

  • 20 double unders
  • 15 box jumps (24/20″)
  • 10 Toes 2 bar
  • 5 dips

    A- 25kg. Back and shoulder took a bit to warm up today.

    B – got up to 50kg. Gotta work on the clean/front squat before i try going up.

    C – 10:23… Double Unders are a curse

  2. A: 22.5kg, pretty much all lifts felt good. had one or two that had a slight jump in them, but not massive (like usual), for the most part had my feet planted with only heels coming up to bring the bar up which is what i’ve been trying to focus on with my snatches. definitely improving!

    B: 32.5kg (new pb, hooray!)

    C: 10:39, double unders slowed me down most. in the first round was managing 5-6 at a time, last round was only managing 1 or 2 in a row. did K2C (seem to lose my grip when i go to kick up to attempt T2B, well more toes to air really, i’m still quite far off from hitting the bar) & body assisted dips.

  3. A: 45kg. didn’t feel good until around rep 7

    B: 90kg – below max but quite a few positives to take out of it. Good tips from Ben on foot position as well

    C: 8:08 – slowed up mostly on box jumps

  4. A: 20kg empty bar. Flexibility still an issue.
    B: 60kg new pb.
    C: 8:27 – du’s ok, box jumps ok (used a big box, not sure of the height – but I am sure it grew between rounds), t2b ok, ring dips are a challenge!

  5. A: 30kg, get under fast – straight to bottom of squat
    B: 60kg, lost some confidence on jerk
    C: 8:46, good fun, didn’t even kick the box once!!

  6. A: 24.5kg, dropped a few kilos, wasn’t feeling right today
    B: 40kg, I frickin LOVE clean & jerks
    C: 8:08 good fun, didn’t even kick the box once!! Managed 10 DU in a row today, on track to get my 50 in a row by the end of the year! Just a shame about ring dips…..

  7. A: 22kg, very comfortable, have been sitting on this weight for a few weeks but this is the first time it’s felt easy so will start pushing it a bit more. I need to work on getting it up quicker.

    B: 37kg!! New PB!!!! :D Although ben said there was a little bit of a press in my left arm but said he’d count it so I’m stoked!!!! Now I just need to work on my cleans so I can keep building up! Am loving Clean Jerks!!

    C: 9.16, wasn’t too bad (am always happy when I finish within the time cap!) Calves were still dead from Annie on the weekend so didn’t get through double unders as quick as I would have liked and need to keep practicing box jumps.

    Am so happy!! Did Annie in open gym on Saturday and got great results!!! First time I did it I got to 10-15 double unders on the 30 set, this time I got all double unders done up to the 20s and was just about to start the sit ups!!! Am soooo happy with that!! AND I got 18 double unders in a row!! WOO HOO!!!! Thanks Pip!!! :D

  8. A: 15kg bar – working on making sure the movement is right and got there around rep 6

    B: 35kg. Happy with this last time I got to 35kg it was really messy. This was much better (got to push knees out when I jerk!)

    C: 9:25. As always DU were my limiter. And box jumps just aren’t feeling comfortable at the moment.

    C: 11:23, I missed way too many box jumps, so plenty of re-doing. I’ve got to work up to toes to bar and dips.

  10. A – 20 kg bar, happy to be gripping the bar really and tech was good
    B – Did push press 30kg, felt heavy but good
    C – DNF but had to take a bathroom break in the middle due to damn double unders! and there was a queue! But got 2 rounds and 11 double unders for last one, so happy to be working on the skipping! thanks all :)

  11. PS – Day 15 of Whole 30 and its going good, nice food not too hard, just need to be super organised! But feeling ok with it all, Salmon and vegies for dinner tonight!

  12. Back after bit of sickie-poos.

    A: 27kgs felt really good tonight on most reps. Yippee. Thanks Ben for noticing and sharing my happy.

    B: 50kgs, just missed 55kg which is normally pretty doable.

    C: 8:48 I think (RXd), still not 100% effort but did up tempo tonight to test the waters. Fingers crossed.

    Public goal. Will wears pants to training everyday except on all of the coaches’ birthdays.

  13. A: Did a few at 32.5kg then moved up the 35kg for the rest. Felt good except one.

    B: 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 55kg 60kg – previous PB was 50kg

    C:8:13, DU worse than usual, T2B getting better, dips need work

    A: 40kg, all good (only repeated 1). Up to 45kg, maybe 50kg next time

    B: 60kg, still not feeling great, jerk is uncoordinated and back foot placement not consistent – needs work… Clean part is OK.

    C: 11.36 with pushups instead of ring dips. Faced my nemesis (DUs) and came off better than usual!

  15. A: 3x 70, 80,80,80,miss,80,80,80 gets tough when you miss a couple with little time to reset
    B: 102.5 with a small press out in the jerk
    C: 5:34

  16. A: 50 with PeteO lots of fun I really like these
    B: spent a lot of time and a lots of reps on 50 warming up the shoulders some serius weirdness with the squat clean, really , but the. Had a crack at 60 and then 70
    C: 5:48

    B) 82.5 kg dropped 87.5
    c) rxd 8.54 . Had to grind out the last round .

    C: 7:59 – happy I was able to string together a dozen DUs

  20. A little daunting at first as still a newbie :)

    A: I know the bar had weights on it… what they were.. I dont know!
    B: Just a bar – first time doing jerks.
    C: 7:08 – surprised at my time! Thanks to Mads for pushing me through!

    B: Clean & Jerk 1RM: 37.5kg
    C: got through 2 rounds + a third set of double unders and box jumps before timed out. Double-unders were all dodgy.
    I only just did my first real double-under the other day (yay). Next will be trying to string a couple together. Funny thing is I was using the long ropes when I should’ve been using the short ones. Skipping is not my forte.
